Human Rights Legal Clinic award ceremony held in Montenegro

Twenty-one law students who successfully completed the Human Rights Legal Clinic were awarded their certificates on 26 October 2021.

Over a period of one year, law students from three law faculties in Montenegro have broadened their knowledge on relevant international standards safeguarding the rights of victims of domestic violence. They worked with legal practitioners, judges, lawyers and civil society activists in order to gain practical skills on how to deal with “real cases”, particularly concerning the domestic and gender-based violence.

Following the course of clinical education, the students took a test and demonstrated high level of knowledge and legal reasoning.

The Human Rights Legal Clinics were established within the action "Improved procedural safeguards in judicial proceedings in Montenegro", that is a part of the joint European Union and Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022”.
