GLACY+ goes regional: First Regional Introductory Judicial Training of Trainers (ToT) for West African countries

Today the Council of Europe launched the first Regional Introductory Judicial Training of Trainers (ToT) on Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence to a group of 30 magistrates (Judges, and Prosecutors) and other high level judicial officers of 10 different countries from West Africa (Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, Cape Verde, Guinea Conakry, Cote d'Ivoire, Mali, Mauritania, Niger and Togo). This training is unique in the sense that the trainers are judicial officials from Senegal who were also trained by the CoE during the GLACY project (2013-2016) and who are now able to disseminate their knowledge not only among their national peers, but also in their respective region.

A series of similar training opportunities are scheduled during the GLACY+ timeframe with the aim to reach out to as many countries as possible in the project’s priority regions.
