GRETA holds its 37th plenary meeting

The Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) held its 37th meeting from 29 June to 3 July 2020 (a combination of physical and online meeting).

During the meeting, GRETA approved draft reports on Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Georgia and the Republic of Moldova, as part of the third evaluation round of the Convention. GRETA decided to transmit these draft reports to the national authorities concerned and to ask them to submit their comments within two months. The comments will be taken into account when GRETA draws up its final evaluation reports. GRETA draft reports remain confidential until their final adoption.

Further, GRETA approved a draft compendium of good practices in addressing trafficking in human beings for the purpose of labour exploitation and decided to extend the mandate of the ad hoc working group set up to prepare the compendium and a guidance note on combating trafficking for the purpose of labour exploitation until GRETA’s 39th meeting.

In light of the sanitary and travel restrictions related to COVID-19, GRETA agreed to revise the timetable of evaluation visits in 2020.

GRETA also agreed on the dates of its 38th meeting (5-9 October 2020) and 39th meeting (16-20 November 2020).
