GRETA holds its 39th plenary meeting

The Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) held its 39th meeting from 18 to 20 November 2020 (a combination of physical and online meeting).

During the meeting, GRETA adopted final reports on Bulgaria, Denmark and Georgia, as part of the third evaluation round of the Convention. These reports will be sent to the authorities concerned and will subsequently be made public, together with eventual final comments by the authorities.

Further, GRETA adopted a guidance note on preventing and combating trafficking in human beings for the purpose of labour exploitation and decided to transmit it to the Committee of the Parties.

GRETA also discussed the reports submitted by the authorities of Andorra, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania and Switzerland to the Committee of the Parties' recommendations and agreed on issues which should be followed up in the context of the on-going dialogue with the authorities.

In light of the sanitary and travel restrictions related to COVID-19, GRETA re-examined its timetable of evaluation visits.

The next (40th) GRETA meeting will take place in Strasbourg on 22-26 March 2021.
